Sep 4, 1998 · John Boden, a geography teacher, started at Mount Grace comprehensive at about the same time as Ms Farrall at Mellow Lane. Parkfield secondary modern school in Potters Bar, Hertfordshire, had been granted comprehensive status in 1948 and on moving to a new site was re-named Mount Grace.

Name: Mellow Lane School, Hayes Park. Date: 1938. Architect: Curtis and Burchett. Borough: Hillingdon. Listing: Notes: Hayes based MCC school built in 1938. It was extended in 1948 and turned into one of the first Comprehensive schools in the country. Now known as Hewens College.
I recently went back to where I grew up and visited the local places I could remember as a child and teenager (yes, that's me on the right), including my senior school, Mellow Lane, in the London Borough of Hillingdon.
