Malvern College was founded in 1865 on the outskirts of the town as a boys’ school with 24 pupils and 12 masters. The college had a brief spell at Blenheim Palace in 1939 when its premises were requisitioned by the Admiralty and was ousted again, this time to Harrow School, to make way for the war time government’s Telecommunications and Research Establishment.
