    Week 1: 09/06 to 15/06

Sunday: Outbreaks of rain push into Northern Ireland and through the course of the day they spread into Wales and much of central England. Scotland has a mix of sunny spells and showers. Southern England should be mostly dry, but cloud builds after a bright start. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday: Sunny spells and showers. Most of the showers will be in central and northern areas, with the south often remaining dry and bright. Temperatures remain on the low side, particularly in the north. Thursday...

    Week 2: 16/06 to 22/06

Showers or longer spells of rain are likely to affect all regions through the course of the week. However, there should be a fair amount of dry and bright weather too. There are indications of it turning significantly warmer at times and there is a possibility of thundery conditions developing, especially in the south and east. However, temperatures over all of the UK are likely to be close to the average when taken over the week as a whole. Forecast confidence is low.

    Week 1

An area of low pressure pushes southeastwards across the UK early in the period. As it moves away, a northerly flow returns with high pressure centred to the west. Towards the end of the week the area of high pressure is expected to decline and that allows low pressure to push in from the west. It also leads to the northerly flow being cut off. The chart below is from the UK Met Office Global model. It shows pressure and precipitation at 12:00, Tuesday 11th June.

    Week 2

An Atlantic flow is forecast to remain in place for much of the week. Despite that, there are some signs of low pressure areas stalling to the west of the UK and, were that to happen, it would allow much warmer air to begin feeding northwards. The chart below shows the GEFS forecast mean surface level pressure on Tuesday 18th June.
