RESIST: Resistance determines how likely it is that a debuff against a given character will fail or miss. In other words, the higher a character’s RESIST rating, then the more likely any attempt to control or otherwise apply a debuff to this character will fail.
To inflict debuff to your enemies but, you can't 100% successfully inflict debuff to enemies because they also have RESIST. RESIST - Resistance to block incoming debuff. SPD Point - How fast the character AP reaches 100% and indicates their turn to attack.
May 30, 2022 · If an esper has 100% accuracy and the enemy has default RESIST, there is still a 20% chance to resist. Also, ACC and RESIST are hard capped at 100%, so anything more is just a waste of stat points. And the most optimal ACC to have is 80%, since there is always a 20% chance to resist a debuff.
As a substat, though, Resist is pretty great to have on your Supports. Something like HP%, Def%, Spd, Resist on a piece of equipment would be great for your supports and sometimes even controllers (though I'd say ACC to 80% first, then Resist).

RESIST – ACC = chance to resist debuff or negative effect. If this check succeeds, the calculation moves onto the final check. If this check fails, the debuff is not applied.
Resist is pretty much a useless stat. Anyone who wants to land a debuff will have 80 Accuracy, meaning your resist is useless. The others are likely unimportant, so no point maxing out resist for them. Speed and AP pushing is the way you want to go.
