I wondered if Continental airlines or Air Canada have any discounts on its flights to Newark (from Tel Aviv) and Toronto. I'm looking for a flight on August, but prices seems to be very very expensive.
I find that if you do not do this you have a greater chance of losing your seat in case the airline decides to bump passengers. It's not a sure thing this will happen, but at least in our experiences nowadays it's a safer bet to do online check in to alleviate this issue.
Connected flights are also covered if you booked them as one trip, even if you switch to a non-EU airline halfway through your journey. The issue must be “within the control of the airline”.
