Tim Simenon first emerged into the limelight when his band Bomb The Bass topped the 1988 charts with 'Beat Dis'. At the time he was a DJ at the London Wag Club and the track, which consisted almost entirely of samples, cost him just £300 to make.
Throughout the '90s, Bomb the Bass continued to blaze trails with the UK hip-hop classic Bug Powder Dust, the trip-hop blueprint Winter In July and the dubby Clear. All the while, Simenon racked up production and remix credits for acts like Depeche Mode, David Bowie, Curve, Björk and Massive Attack.
