Vukovar (pronounced [ʋûkoʋaːr]; Serbian Cyrillic: Вуковар, Hungarian: Vukovár, German: Wukowar) is a city in Croatia, in the eastern regions of Syrmia and Slavonia. It contains Croatia's largest river port, located at the confluence of the Vuka and the Danube.
Vukovar is the most eastern city in Croatia, right on the border with neighbouring country Serbia in Vukovar-Syrmia County. Also located on the Danube River (the Dunav in Croatian), the city has a population of just over 22,000 people.
