Valleyfield, Fife. Valleyfield consists of High Valleyfield and Low Valleyfield which are neighbouring villages in Fife, Scotland, midway between Dunfermline and Kincardine-on-Forth. Low Valleyfield is on the shore of the Firth of Forth, High Valleyfield on the ridge immediately to the north.
Valleyfield is situated to the north of the Firth of Forth about 5 miles (8 km) west of Dunfermline. The original estate has been bisected by the A985(T) and most of the southern part of the estate has been developed for housing related to the local coal mining industry.
This mixed coastal and woodland walk takes in some of the highlights of West Fife including the lovely Valleyfield Woods (well known for their snowdrops) and the picturesque village of Culross. Much work has been done on the footpaths in the area by the hardworking volunteers of the West Fife Woodlands Group.
Enjoy winding through the woodlands, along the river, and on the town streets as the trail travels through Valleyfield Woods and High Valleyfield. Take in the fauna and flora as you make your through this old designed landscape, once part of the Valleyfield House Estate.
