Oct 6, 2010 · “Secretariat” takes none of those mundane paths. It is a great film about greatness, the story of the horse and the no less brave woman who had faith in him. Penny Chenery ( Diane Lane ) was the daughter of a Virginia horse farm owner.
Again, it is a good movie with some interjections of great cinematography, yet Secretariat was a GREAT horse and deserved a GREAT movie. This was an Oscar winning story, with an Oscar winning cast, but the script was emotionally impotent.
