The production of Despicable Me 2 began in June 2011, in February 2012, the producers started working on the film, the Minions were going to have superpowers but it was cut and made them evil versions of them instead, the idea was later used in Despicable Me 4.
Much funnier than the first one, Despicable Me 2 actually has me liking the second installation in a series much better than the original. A lot of sequels add in new characters. Some serve a purpose.
