I find it really enjoyable. I think it picks up more in season 2, the cast find their groove and the new characters all fit in well. It also mixes a variety of storylines in and has a good dose of action. It is also mostly light-hearted with some occasional serious moments for character development.

Yes, I think most people here would say it's worth watching. I've seen some of 9-1-1 and it has a similar vibe. There's a case per show with character drama as the side storyline.
As with many follow-the-leader American TV shows, there seems to be a disconnect between the woke Hollywood writers and the people who actually watch the show. Not a big deal though. My major issue with The Rookie is Bailey, definitely the character on television/streaming that I hate the most over the last 30 years.
