Passion Play never ceases to be pretentious and absurd, and it almost demands to be seen to be believed. Content collapsed. Terribly shot and written, Glazer's got Rourke facing death so many times that an hour in you're hoping someone will just shoot him already, or at least you, and end this awful experiment. Does Passion Play overreach?
Passion Play doesn't overreach so much as it overindulges in aimless pacing, inert acting, and a romance maudlin enough to make "Twilight" look restrained. You might reasonably assume that any movie starring Mr. Rourke and Mr. Murray would have to have something to recommend it.

Having seen this movies rating of 4 out of ten on IMDb, I had very low expectations for this movie. Having just watched the film I would rate it at least a 7! Mickey Rourke produces his best performance since the wrestler and spun, to compare it it to his most recent work.
