Died of a heart attack during the early morning hours at the Hotel Warwick in midtown Manhattan. He was found by his wife, Joan. Frank had been starring in Gore Vidal's "The Best Man" at the Playhouse on the Mall, in Bergen, N.J. Ralph Meeker, a good friend of Lovejoy's, agreed to take over the role.
