    2012 TV Series

A similar plot idea was used for the 2012 cartoon's episode "Trans-Dimensional Turtles". Similar to Turtles Forever, the 1987 Donatello and his 2012 counterpart are ambushed by the Mirage Turtles. However, they have no time to explain the situation since they have to stop a bomb planted in this realm's Channel 6building. The two Donatellos are seen quickly diffusing the explosive device before returning to the 1987 realm, much to the confusion of the Mirage Turtles.

  4. There are various reading orders for the Mirage TMNT comics on the internet, but they all are either very confusingly laid out, or include issues that, as far as I’m aware, are non-canon. Plus, almost all of them are out of date, considering I know that issues of the Mirage series have been published as recently as 2014.

  5. The comics series all have different tones so it depends on what you're looking for. Classic Mirage is grittier than most of the other series but it's also self-aware about it and it takes the Turtles a bit to grow into their personalities. It trails off without an ending in Volume 4.
