The Film Studies minor offers students the opportunity to select an interdisciplinary program of study that examines the many facets of American and international film. The program allows students to experience different approaches to film study, including film theory, film history, film aesthetics, national cinemas, and cultural differences.
This interdisciplinary minor requires the completion of 15 hours in courses approved for Film Studies. All students are required to complete either FIL 2001 Introduction to Film or FIL 2030 History of Motion Picture and 12 additional hours selected from the list of approved courses.
