May 27, 2024 · The UK's 7 Worst Energy Suppliers. At the other end of the spectrum, the five worst energy suppliers in the study were Utilita (ranked the worst), So Energy and Boost Power. None of these scored higher than 2.3 out of 5 stars for overall customer satisfaction. In total, there were 16 energy companies in the study so the 'worst' is ranked number 16.
Outfox the Market has been voted as Britain's best energy supplier, with ficve-star ratings for bill accuracy and value for money, and an impressive customer score of 83%. This means that Octopus Energy has been knocked off the top spot for the first time since 2019.

It got two out of five stars for most categories, including accessibility - or whether a customer can engage with it effectively, value for money and accuracy of energy payments. It received three stars - an average score - for customer service overall.

The most notable firms with bad customer scores were E.ON, SSE, British Gas, EDF Energy, Npower, and Scottish Power, otherwise known as the Big Six energy suppliers. None of them featured in the top 10 energy suppliers. In fact, these 6 companies were all in the bottom 7.
