To draw emotional performances out of his actors, director Oren Moverman eschewed rehearsals, did fewer than five takes for most scenes, and encouraged improvisation. Release

Rampart General, also known as Harbor UCLA Medical Center in Torrance, CA served as the exterior shot for filming the 70s TV show "Emergency". It is on Carson St. which is a few miles away from the fire house used for the same show.
