In 1968 the City of Leeds College of Education and Carnegie College of Physical Education were merged becoming the City of Leeds and Carnegie College. Upon inspection in Carnegie Library and throughout the college a great many of Ernest Major’s core library of books were found that he had left to the college on his retirement.
The Archive and Special Collections at Leeds Beckett University are currently held at the University’s Library, situated on our Headingley Campus. We collect, describe and preserve material for future generations while seeking to promote knowledge of, and access to this rich heritage for educational, professional and research purposes.
