is a free-to-air network that airs on the Amazon-owned live-streaming platform, Twitch. Owned by HappyEntertainment Networks, a division of BeHappy, it was created as a quick replacement for HappyTV, after drama between PowerMedia and BeHappy overgrew. It was launched on April 28, 2023, and is the main subject of the #BoycottSunshine event.
Sunshine was announced on April 19, 2023, immediately after its predecessor HappyTV ceased operations, even though BeHappy promised a new network wouldn't come out. Sunshine was revealed to be launched to April 28, just nine days until its launch. Sunshine itself was delayed from 7PM to 8PM to 9PM to 9:50pm and when it was launched, it was only on the air for around a minute before signing off. A few minutes later, only after backlash from announcing Sunshine was delayed until tomorrow, the channel finally launched at 10:15pm with "Pink Panther and Pals" being the first program.
After the #BoycottSunshine event, Sunshine and its predecessor, HappyTV's Twitter accounts deactivated. However, the Twitch and Instagram accounts are still active as well as the Discord server.
The network was called out for supporting Melanie Martinez, a musical artist who had rape allegations against them. As a result, on August 4, 2023, Sunshine aired its then-last livestream on all of Twitch. After all this, A black screen with the text: “DONE. R.I.P sunshine, celebrimation, happy entertainment studios, happy entertainment networks, and.…. behappy. congrats Chroma, Powermedia, and all of the Twitch TV community, you won.”, resulting into the temporary shutdown of BeHappy.
On August 5, 2023, the official Discord server was locked down, completely making the Sunshine brand collapse. Despite this, however, the network later came back on air after a while, along with the server, which was recreated shortly after its network came back on air.
