Saint Ambrose College is a selective Catholic Grammar School for boys aged 11-18 years old. The normal point of entry is Year 7 at the start of the academic year following the completion of their primary school education or at Sixth Form following completion of their GCSE studies.
St Ambrose College is a Christian Brothers ' Roman Catholic boys' grammar school in Hale Barns, Altrincham, Greater Manchester, England. It was founded in 1946 by Joseph Robertson. In 2012 the school became an academy, and was completely re-built.
The story of the origins of St. Ambrose College is inextricably linked with the German invasion and occupation of Guernsey in June 1940, which caused the evacuation to England of a party of schoolboys and their De La Salle teachers from Les Vauxbelets College.
