Sigma Alpha Mu (ΣΑΜ), commonly known as Sammy, is a college fraternity founded at the City College of New York in 1909. [2] Though initially founded as a Jewish organization, [ 2 ] the fraternity dropped its religious affiliation and became open to men of all faiths in 1953.
Sigma Alpha Mu’s Mission is to foster the development of collegiate men and our alumni by instilling strong fraternal values, offering social and service opportunities, encouraging academic excellence and teaching leadership skills.
