Monika Parekh is President of P-Squared Philanthropies, a family foundation she co-founded with her husband in 2019. Her philanthropic endeavours are dedicated to advancing neurological research, women’s health and gender equity.
When my husband and I decided to start our family foundation a few years ago, I knew that a core part of it would center on supporting women and girls, especially those from immigrant and marginalized communities. Access to quality education is a big part of that, but so is the freedom to control one’s body and reproductive choices.
Monika Parekh is a wife and mother, living in NYC. She graduated Vassar College and holds a master’s degree in physical therapy from Columbia University. She worked for several years with disabled children with the NYC Board of Education, before leaving the field to start her own family.
P-Squared Philanthropies was founded by Monika and Deven Parekh in 2019. Sharing the same surname before marrying in 1998, they decided to honor their joint philanthropic endeavors with the ‘P-Squared’ name. The Parekhs have two grown sons and reside in NYC.
