Marjorie Augusta Gateson (January 17, 1891 – April 17, 1977) was an American stage and film actress.
She was notable on screen as a jilted wife in The Silver Lining (1932), as a rival to Mae West in Goin' to Town (1935) and, in a rare comical performance, as society matron Mrs. Winthrop LeMoyne, taking boxing lessons from Harold Lloyd in The Milky Way (1936).

Mini Bio. Brooklyn-born Marjorie Gateson learned elocution and poise from her mother, a speech teacher. It was not surprising that her sophistication, correct manners and use of language led to her frequent portrayals of upper crust society matrons, hostesses, social climbers and blue-blooded snobs.

Marjorie Augusta Gateson, was a character actress in Hollywood films of the 1930s and 1940s. Gateson made her film debut in 1931 after a career on the stage of more than two decades, playing secondary character roles as women of wealth and breeding, who were often haughty and aloof.
