    • Disable your Adblocker. If you are using an ad blocker, then it might be the cause of the issue. Some ad blockers can disrupt YouTube videos or are unable to fully block the ads, which leads to video not showing.
    • Disable Hardware acceleration. Hardware acceleration is also a common cause of video-related issues. Most browsers have hardware acceleration enabled by default, which may lead to YouTube showing a black screen.
    • Make sure Javascript is enabled. YouTube requires Javascript to perform many of its functions, if it’s disabled, then videos may stop showing on YouTube.
    • Sign out from YouTube. Sometimes logging out of your YouTube account and browsing as a guest may fix this problem (worked for me once). Simply Click on your profile button at the top-right corner and select “Sign out” from it.

    • Restart your Internet connection.

    • Run an Internet speed test to make sure that your Internet can support the selected video resolution. You can also change the quality of your video to improve your experience. Note: Using multiple devices on the same network may reduce the speed that your device gets.

    • Check the YouTube video's resolution and the recommended speed needed to play the video. The table below shows the approximate speeds recommended to play each video resolution.

    Make sure that you're signed in to YouTube.

    Try closing the YouTube app or rebooting your device. You can also uninstall and reinstall the YouTube app.

    Try updating your browser or clearing your browser's cache and cookies. You can also check whether your browser extensions that block ads are affecting video playback. As another option, try opening YouTube in an incognito window with all extensions disabled and check if the issue continues.

    Try updating to the newest available version of the YouTube app. You can also try updating  your device's firmware/system software.

    Make sure that you've turned on data usage for YouTube:

    1. Go to your device settings.

    2. Tap Mobile.

    3. Under the 'Mobile data' section, go to YouTube.

    4. Next to YouTube, tap the button so that it's on.

    Other types of errors

    If you can hear the audio of a YouTube video but the video player is green or black, try to:

    • Use a different browser to watch the video.

    • Clear your browser's cache and cookies.

    If that doesn't work, try these troubleshooting tips.

    If you can't hear audio from a YouTube video, try to:

    • Make sure that the sound/volume is turned on for your browser or device.

    • Check your device's sound settings.

    • Restart your browser or device.
