Oct 19, 2012 · Now, if you want to put the Playbook back to factory settings (a somewhat extreme option, in my mind, but you asked about it), you need to do a security wipe, which will wipe out everything on the Playbook (settings, downloaded apps, music, pictures, videos, etc.) and take it back to out-of-the-box start-all-over condition.

Feb 9, 2018 · I occasionally use an old Playbook for backup, but today I find my laptop refuses to connect due to. a security issue that Windows flags up (Playbook using a dated security protocol or something long those lines) :( . It used to work OK, even without use of Blackberry's Desktop Manager, but Fall update seems to have bricked.
If the display is off, press the Power key to turn it back on. Form the home screen find and select Settings. Then tap Security and choose Security Wipe. Enter the word blackberry in the text field. Tap Wipe Data to intiate the security wipe process. Well done!
