On Windows 10, forgetting a password and the security questions can be one of the more frustrating things to deal with, and if you're unlucky enough to have forgotten the account password, you may be cursing to the heavens. The good news is you can avoid this by creating a password reset disk.
To create a password reset disk, connect a USB flash drive on your computer, and then use these steps:
•Open Control Panel.
•Click on User Accounts.
•Click on User Accounts again.
•Click the "Create a password reset disk" option from the left navigation pane.
•Click the Next button.
If you've forgotten your password and the password hint you provided isn't working, you can now use the password reset disk to save the day.
To reset your account password with the reset disk, connect the USB flash drive with the reset information and use these steps:
•Click the Sign-in options setting.
•Choose the password option.
•Click the Submit button next to the password field.
•Click the OK button.

Jun 8, 2022 · I am unable to wipe the device using the standard procedure. "Settings -> Security and Privacy -> Security Wipe" will ask for BBID password, but nothing happens on "verify". A wrong password is rejected (and failed attempts count up to 10). "BlackBerry Protect anti-theft feature is on.
- Sign in to your local account on the PC.
- Open the Control Panel (icons view), and click/tap on the User Accounts icon.
- Connect a USB flash drive that you want to use as your password reset disk. The USB flash drive will not be formatted during the creation of the password reset disk, so you can use one that already has data on it without worry.
- Click/tap on the Create a password reset disk link on the left side. You can also enter rundll32.exe keymgr.dll,PRShowSaveWizardExW into Run (Win+R) and click/tap on OK to open the Forgotten Password Wizard.
Plug a USB flash drive into your device. In the search box on the taskbar, type Control Panel, and then choose it from the list of results. In the Control Panel search box, type create password reset. Select Create a password reset disk, and follow the remaining instructions.
