Whether you’re jump starting a frozen phone or restoring a handset to factory defaults before passing it on, sometimes you need reset your Blackberry to get it working again.
Fortunately, BlackBerry created a means to reset your password should you lock yourself out of your device. You can also, however, choose the "nuclear" option -- completely resetting your phone to factory defaults.
Restore factory default settings - BlackBerry 8520 Curve. When you restore the factory default settings, all personal settings are reset. Follow these instructions to restore the factory default settings. All phone data will be deleted. Data on the SIM card is not deleted. Press the Menu key.
Step 1. Press down the alt key on the keyboard and keep holding it down. Step 2. Press the right shift key >> hold it (while continuing to press the alt key). Step 3.
