Musical Arts. The music program at Hackley promotes an appreciation for music as a discipline and as a vehicle for personal expression across all grade levels, providing students of all levels of interest and ability to hone their musical skills through participation in Band, Vocal, and Strings.
Feb 4, 2015 · The collection and its corresponding concert started in 1943 by Detroit musicians and artists to honor the legacy of Ms. Hackley, a former Detroit Public School teacher who went on to international fame as an artist and instructor, particularly for shedding light upon the significant musical riches of the African American culture.
Anticipated for completion in 2024, this 50,000 square-foot landmark space will foster interdisciplinary collaboration, uniting four major disciplines into one building from computer science to the visual and performing arts.
