    This article is about the Samaritans, a confidential service that provides support to people with suicidal thoughts and feelings. They are available 24 hours a day through phone calls or other means of communication, and they listen without judgment or telling you what to do.

    Call the Samaritans for free on 116 123, they are experienced in listening to people with suicidal thoughts and feelings. They can help you get through difficult moments, make sense of what you're feeling and identify other forms of help if needed.

    The Samaritans are there when all your friends are asleep and you're alone in the world full of thoughts. They will listen without judgment or telling you what to do.

    You might be experiencing some suicidal thoughts and feelings such as wanting to die, taking more risks or living recklessly, welcoming death as a release or way of taking control, etc. The Samaritans hope that talking with them will help you see your situation in a different light.

    In most situations the service is confidential but there are important exceptions such as asking them to call emergency services if unable to call yourself, becoming incoherent during the call after giving address/location/phone number etc., being at risk (child/adult), fitting one of reasons why confidentiality cannot be maintained etc.
