Dec 1, 2020 · Mojang has finally released the first few snapshots for the Caves and Cliffs update for Minecraft 1.17 (20w48a). It adds new amethyst cluster blocks, powder snow, and dripstone. Amethyst clusters can be mined underground in special cave formations that look absolutely gorgeous. Powder snow can be used to freeze mobs and other players.
