May 12, 2020 · Jimmy Marinos and I met and played together in a couple of bands all thru and after High School. We were always writing our own music with our own studio rehearsal space. Jimmy and I were still bouncing around The Motor City, we found a little rehearsal space and practically lived there.

Mar 9, 2020 · This suspicion was confirmed by the band's current drummer, Brad Elvis, who playfully kidded in 2008 to a group of folks backstage at the long-gone Abbey Pub that Marinos hadn't left his couch in 20 years, but, in all seriousness, was doing quite alright thanks to the song's continuing popularity.
In 1984, drummer Jimmy Marinos left the Romantics, and he was replaced by David Petratos, who served as the band's drummer until 1990. This lineup released one album, 1985's Rhythm Romance, which peaked at #72 and produced one charting single ("Test of Time" #71).
