Jan Hendrik Wolkers (26 October 1925 – 19 October 2007) was a Dutch author, sculptor and painter. Wolkers is considered by some to be one of the "Great Four" writers of post- World War II Dutch literature , alongside Willem Frederik Hermans , Harry Mulisch and Gerard Reve (the latter authors are also known as the "Great Three").
Jan Waters (born 28 January 1937) is an English actress of the theatre, television, and film. She was particularly active in the London theatre scene during the 1960s and 1970s, notably appearing in the original West End productions of Jule Styne 's Do Re Mi and Noël Coward 's High Spirits .

Summer Heat ( Dutch: Zomerhitte) is a 2008 film directed by Monique van de Ven. Her first feature-length film, it is based on the 2005 book-week giveaway novella by Jan Wolkers. Wolkers, who died while the film was in post-production, also authored the story for van de Ven's first film as an actress, Turkish Delight (1973).
