Oct 2022. There are a variety of trails below the Flatirons in western Boulder. Even the easiest ones involve a minimum of 450 feet of elevation. Many are shaded, providing protection from the sun. Some of the Flatiron loops are under repair and closed for repairs from Monday to Thursday.
First and Second Flatiron Hike. This is a 2.4 mile out and back hike that takes you up between the 1st and 2nd Flatirons. It is a challenging route that gains about 1500 feet of elevation. This route is shown on the map above. This is a popular hike with great views, but is steep, especially towards the end.
