Nov 28, 2020 · The main difference is that mercy means taking an action, pity does not. The action may be as weak as an act of forgiveness or an act of permission (here, the persuasive argument seems to be just to permit someone euthanasia).
Two different young men coming together from different places stand side by side and fight against a conspiracy. They go after a past that doesn't leave behind. They bring to account of old notebooks, dirty cases, big and small lies. They're in a life with the Mafia, money, intrigue.
Davros seems to have engineered the Daleks not to have pity or empathy, sure, but the species either a) can learn words, or b) that word was a substitute for other concepts. Mercy might just be a way of Daleks saying 'don't kill yet'.
