Elkhart Environmental Center. The Elkhart Environmental Center (EEC), the largest greenspace in Elkhart, is a beautiful space along the Elkhart River featuring public trails through restored woodlands, prairies, and wetlands. The EEC trails are open dawn – dusk every day and are free to visit.
Over the next 4 years, the City of Elkhart aims to plant over 2,000 trees, remove approximately 125 acres of land invaded by exotic species, and conduct outreach to over 35,000 people.
