Donaghadee (/ ˌdɒnəxəˈdiː / DON-ə-khə-DEE, [4] from Irish Domhnach Daoi) [1] is a small town in County Down, Northern Ireland. It lies on the northeast coast of the Ards Peninsula, about 18 miles (29 km) east of Belfast and about six miles (10 km) south east of Bangor.
Donaghadee is a historic and scenic town on the eastern coast of Northern Ireland, with a lighthouse, a Motte and a Camera Obscura. It is also the filming location of the BBC series Hope Street, a popular police drama set in a fictional town called Port Devine.
