If you want to take the effort out of planning your time in Madeira, I recommend joining this affordable two-day tour of the island.
- Visit Funchal Cathedral – Sé. Located in the city center, The Cathedral of Funchal (Sé) is one of the main historic landmarks of Funchal. Built in the beginning of the 16th century, at the peak of the Portuguese explorers’ era, Funchal Cathedral is a symbol of power and prosperity.
- Explore the Old Town of Funchal. Funchal Old Town (Zona Velha) is a nice lively place. Most of the city’s shops and restaurants are located in this area.
