Clive Stanley Donner (21 January 1926 – 6 September 2010) [1] [2] was a British film director who was part of the British New Wave, directing films such as The Caretaker, Nothing but the Best, What's New Pussycat?, and Here We Go Round the Mulberry Bush.
Sep 7, 2010 · Film director Clive Donner, who helped launch the careers of actors such as Sir Ian McKellen and Alan Bates, has died at the age of 84. He had Alzheimer's and died in London, his family said.
A British filmmaker who rose to prominence during the 1960s, Donner directed a diverse range of films including an acclaimed adaptation of Pinter’s The Caretaker (1963), What’s New Pussycat? (1965) and Here We Go Round The Mulberry Bush (1968) as well as the BAFTA nominated television play Rogue Male (1976).
