Dennis Muldoon, is a fictional character in the ABC daytime drama General Hospital. He was never seen onscreen and was dead when he was first mentioned.
On August 11, 2023, Finn is sitting alone on the GH rooftop and Liz finds him. He tells her that he just lost a patient that night. The patient traveled for work and picked up a parasite. Finn identified it and started treatment but the patient wasn't getting better. During treatment Finn noticed anomalies in the patient's blood so he ran more tests and discovered the patient had stage four cancer. The patient didn’t know he had it but after the cancer metastasized he chose to fight it as he wanted to spend his remaining time with his daughter and wife. Finn said this felt personal as the daughter is a classmate of Violet's.
On November 14, it is revealed the deceased patient was named Dennis Muldoon. Portia and Terry inform Finn that Dennis' wife is suing Finn and General Hospital individually for malpractice.
Finn tells Liz that Dennis' family believes Finn was negligent for not diagnosing his cancer in time. Dennis had picked up a tapeworm while traveling abroad in third world countries. Afterwards Finn sent him home with a plan of treatment and a request for further testing. Dennis called Finn a few days later saying he felt much better. He went on another trip and although Finn requested a colonoscopy, Dennis didn’t come in for two months. Finn did further blood testing and the colonoscopy which revealed that Dennis had cancer but it was too late and he never left the hospital again.
On November 20, Finn meets with Alexis to discuss the malpractice suit. He says he first met Dennis in April and tells her about his history with the patient. Alexis mentions that the Muldoons are wealthy and grieving and the hospital lawyers will not be on Finn's side. She arranges for Finn to meet Diane as a potential lawyer.
On November 21, Diane tells Finn that Dennis' father-in-law just called her. He goes way back with Diane so the Muldoons have her on retainer.
On November 22, Alexis updates Gregory on the suit and Martin comes in and discusses it with them both. Gregory is defensive about his son. Martin says the jury will only see a grieving widow and Finn should be presented as an exceptional doctor. Gregory thinks Martin is the lawyer for Finn.
