Founded in 2007, the school was first housed in the Claudius Crozet Park Community Building for its first two years. In 2009 the School moved to the old Crozet high school, which was built in 1924. The current Director of the Field School is the also the founder, Todd Barnett Charles Skipperwas set to become the new director in the fall of 2020.
