Our Monastery is located about 20 miles northeast of Grand Rapids, Michigan in a small rural area called Parnell. We are just west of the historic St. Patrick's Church with its tall steeple, which we can see illuminated at night from our monastery.
The Discalced Carmelite Nuns of the Monastery of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Ada, Michigan (Relocated from Grand Rapids in 1991), was founded in 1916 when 16 Carmelite Nuns from the Carmel in Queretaro, Mexico fled to the United States during the persecution of the Church, and the bishop of Grand Rapids, Michigan invited them to come to his diocese.
