Welcome to Lakeside We are a small special school with an amazing staff team who have helped us to achieve some excellent results. We are proud to have been awarded 6 Ofsted Outstanding grades and our work has also been recognised in other areas.
Lakeside School is an independent, specialist day school providing high quality education for boys and girls. Based in Liverpool, the school meets the needs of pupils with special educational needs including ADHD, autism, speech, language & communication difficulties and social & emotional difficulties.
We serve a wide catchment area centred on the Welwyn Hatfield area which extends to Borehamwood and Potters Bar. Pupils are placed at the school by the Local Authority and all pupils require a Statement of Special Educational Needs or an Education Health and Care Plan naming the school.

Although Lakeside is known for its calm, slow-paced way of life, it is also chalked full of activities and fun things to do – especially during the warmer months.
Lakeside is an independent day school providing for pupils from five to 11 years with complex communication and learning difficulties and associated anxieties and behaviours. The school has been judged as 'Outstanding' in its last three Ofsted inspections (2010, 2014, 2017).
The mission of Lakeside School is to develop in intellectually capable young people the creative minds, healthy bodies, and ethical spirits needed to contribute wisdom, compassion, and leadership to a global society.
