Dean Cyril Reed (September 22, 1938 – June 13, 1986) was an American actor, singer-songwriter, director, and social activist who lived a great part of his adult life in South America and then in East Germany.
Dean Reed. Actor: Sing, Cowboy, sing. Dean Reed was born September 22, 1938, in Denver Colorado. He went to Hollywood where he signed a record contract with Capitol Records in 1958, but his third single, "Our Summer Romance" was so popular in South America he went to tour there.

Dean Reed was a singer and actor who became a star in South America and Eastern Europe. He was known for his political activism, his romance with Eve Kivi, and his mysterious death in 1986.
