  1. Nov 29, 2023 · Being a good wife is all about tending to their needs while maintaining your own identity. It’s a balance, caring for them while caring for yourself, but you can do it! In this article, we’ll teach you how to be a good wife through friendship, romance, and communication.

    • Recognize that she’s more than just a wife. Before you married, your wife was a daughter, a sibling, a friend, a colleague, the pretty stranger on the subway….she was an entire being in her own right!
    • Treat her the way you’d like to be treated. Does this point need much more explanation? It goes without saying, if you wouldn’t like to be shouted at, don’t shout at her.
    • Give her space. I can’t stress this point enough – we ALL need space and time to do our thing. Your wife included. Maybe she needs an afternoon once a week to catch up with her friends?
    • Encourage her dreams and ambitions. If you’re not already her biggest supporter, get on board! Your wife’s ambitions and dreams matter. No matter how you feel about her latest business venture, share your concerns, but never shut her down.
    • Learn How To Argue. They say that “death and taxes” are life’s only guarantees, but we’d add arguing with your spouse to the list. Shouting across each other, though, won’t get you far.
    • Practice Self-Care. You can’t show up for someone else if you don’t show up for yourself. So indulge, sister friend! Take those baths. Get those mani-pedis.
    • Don’t Play Mind Games. You’re married now, so leave the games behind. It’s tiring and only causes problems. Be upfront about your needs and wants — and allow your spouse to do the same.
    • Learn To Tune Them Out. When you’re with someone, day in and out, little things they do will start to eat away at your sanity like a moth on cashmere.
