Summaries. A doctor stops in a small Southwestern town to bury his wife. He decides to stay there and start a practice, but soon runs into violent cattle ranchers. In 1870, Dr. John Brighton and his wife Louise are on a wagon train heading for California. When they reach Oklahoma Territory, Louise dies during childbirth, but her baby girl survives.
After his wife dies in childbirth, a doctor settles down in the small Oklahoma town of Cherokee Wells to raise his newborn daughter.
