It is the sequel to the 2006 film The Da Vinci Code, also directed by Howard, and the second installment in the Robert Langdon film series.
Devil and the Angel (French: La foire aux chimères) is a 1946 French drama film directed by Pierre Chenal and starring Madeleine Sologne, Erich von Stroheim and Louis Salou. It was shot at the Billancourt Studios in Paris. The film's sets were designed by the art director Jean d'Eaubonne.
However, because the movie tells the story of von Stroheim's self-destruction at the hands of his unwitting femme fatale, it partakes of the former genre. I would like to find this a better movie than it is, but it seems a bit tired and obvious and old-fashioned.
