Hair is a musical focusing on the lives of two young men in the Vietnam era against the backdrop of the hippie culture. Set in the late 1960s, Claude Hooper Bukowski (John Savage) is a naive Oklahoman sent off to see the sites of New York before beginning his enlistment in the US Army.
Releasing at the tail end of the 70’s and reflecting the anti-Vietnam counterculture era, Hair takes us on a drug laden euphoric adventure through New York City and beyond. A band of misfits led by Treat Williams take an Okie from Muskogee played by John Savage under their wing to show him a good time before he heads off to war.
