Amanda Randolph was the first African American woman to star in both her own TV show and host a variety show. While most of us know Hattie McDaniel, Lena Horne, and Dorothy Dandridge, not too many of us are familiar with Amanda Randolph.
Amanda Randolph was a pioneering Black actress who appeared in film, radio, Broadway and TV. She was the sister of Lillian Randolph and the aunt of Barbara Randolph, and played piano and sang blues in vaudeville.
