Tom Hendryk is a British actor, acting coach, presenter, journalist, dancer, writer, and the recurring actor featured in the Apple TV+ series, Ted Lasso who played the character Tom O'Brien, the goalkeeper for AFC Richmond.
Tom was born and raised in Leicester, UK with Polish heritage. He has a BA Hons from The Royal Birmingham Conservatoire and has performed internationally in Theatre, Film and TV for over 11 years.
Film
Tom was in a vampire movie starring himself and his fellow Ted Lasso (TV series) co-star Joe Street (Paul Reynolds) called Bram Stoker's Van Helsing - an independent horror film written and directed by Steve Lawson, and starring Mark Topping, Charlie Bond, and himself. It is based on the 1897 Bram Stoker novel 'Dracula," told from the point of view of the character Abraham Van Helsing.
Directing
Tom enjoys working as a freelance director. In 2017, Tom had his full directing debut at The Playhouse Theatre in Northampton where he directed Cowboy Mouth by Sam Shepard and Patti Smith. Tom was the Co-director of the sold out ‘The Polar Express’ Experience in Birmingham. Since then, Tom has directed not only plays but also R&D projects and was also selected to work as a director at the 1448 theatre festival.
Dancing
Tom has been Polish Folk Dancing for over 25 years and has performed with dance groups from around the UK and the USA. He is a qualified Polish Folk Dance Instructor and the current Vice-Chair of the Polish Folklore Federation in the UK – helping organise large scale events including the 10th and the 11th UK Polish Folklore Spectacular Festival.
