Robert Ellsworth Patrick Aloysius Brady (December 31, 1914 – February 27, 1972) was an American actor and musician best known as the "comical sidekick" of the popular cowboy film and television star Roy Rogers on his eponymous radio and television series.
Pat Brady was an actor who appeared in Man from Music Mountain, Sons of the Pioneers and The Roy Rogers Show. He was born in 1914, served in the army during World War II and played bass guitar with The Sons of the Pioneers.

Feb 29, 1972 · COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., Feb. 28 (UPI)—Pat Brady, musician, singer and comic sidekick of Roy Rogers, the movie cowboy, died yesterday while visiting friends in nearby Green Mountain Falls.
Pat Brady (1914-1972) was an American actor and singer, best known for his role as Pat Brady on The Roy Rogers Show. He was also a member of the musical group Sons of the Pioneers, and served in the US Army during World War II.

While appearing as a bassist in California in 1935, Pat struck up a friendship with a young country & western singer named Leonard Slye, a member of the popular Sons of the Pioneers. When Len Slye was elevated to screen stardom as Roy Rogers, he recommended Brady as his replacement in "The Sons".
